This 1975 Hunter has been maintained, upgraded, customized and would compete with many newer boats.

I feel this is a very good buy in today’s market.

The older fiberglass boats were made with thicker fiberglass than the newer models, making them much stronger, Also, this boat has a lead keel whereas the newer boats have Iron keels which tend to rust, With this keel-centerboard feature it allows you to sail into shallower waters, You have a stainless steel anchor and a Lewmar stainless steel bow roller made especially for Delta Anchors, This along with an electric Windlass makes anchoring a breeze, Her large rudder attached to a skeg makes it easier to handle and adds a sense of security.

Upgrading to a Yanmar 2GM 20FDiesel Engine has eliminated the vibrations from the original Yanmar YSE12 one Lunger, Due to the amount of electronics and refrigeration on the boat, the boat was upgraded to 6 #27 AGM batteries, In addition, there is a Wind generator mounted on the stern, The boat was rewired 3 three years ago with a new electrical panel.

It has 6 sails –2 full batten Mains, 2 -150 Jibs; 1-135 Jib and 1 Jenaker with sock, The Jib is self furling and you have an interior boom furling Main, There is a standard boom with a full batten Main, lazy jacks and a boom cover should you desire to change to a standard boom and Mainsail Rig, There is a 4 Man Emergency Life Raft in Canister mounted in a stainless steel cradle on deck.

Sailing can be handled by a couple in any weather and I would also attest that I have handled it single handedly without a problem while the wife was below preparing chow, With the extra hatches and 4” Solar Vents you have plenty of Fresh air, I have rigged shut offs for the vents for cooler weather, The upgraded interior certainly gives a roomy, airy and more comfortable feeling below even during a gloomy day outside, The inside was remodeled with teak cabinets and teak louvered doors, teak bookcase with mounted oversized Clock and Barometer, custom cushions, carpeting, curtains and blinds.

The toilet bowl in the head has been replaced with a household size bowl and converted to manual/electric.

By reviewing the list of extras and the pictures of upgrades, you will see that I did not spare anything to add comforts to our summer home, My wife and I have always felt more than relaxed on board, The boat has been my pet and looked after as a member of the family, In addition to the standard equipment of lifejackets, fire extinguishers, flares, I have added/upgraded: Propeller to a Campbell Sailor 3 bladed sailboat Propeller; Shaft Shark rope/line and debris cutter on propeller shaft.

IN COCKPIT: Added Edson Pedestal Steering w/custom teak wheel; emergency tiller; pedestal winch handle holder; self tailing winches; Chartplotter and GPS at Helm with depth sounder; apparent wind and wind speed; and knotmeter mounted in Edson Pod attached to an offset pedestal guard; Auto pilot; teak double leaf folding pedestal table and cup holder; Ritchie Stainless steel binnacle with stainless cover over a Ritche compass; custom teak grating on cockpit floor; custom teak padded helmsman seat and custom teak stool; Custom cockpit cushions; Electric winch handle with custom teak box to hold electric winch; coaming boxes with teak trim; Data marine clock mounted on bulkhead; teak folding side boarding step; cockpit hot and cold shower; 10# aluminum propane tank in custom made container in locker; Bimini Top and Dodger; Clear Lexan sliding hatch cover leading into boat cabin.

ON TRANSOM: Stainless steel folding ladder with teak steps; stainless steel antenna mast with folding outboard boom to hoist the outboard; stainless steel Force 10 propane gas grill with cover; Life sling overboard rescue system; stainless steel fender holders; fenders; flag staff/ensign and Wind Generator.

ON DECK: Spinker/whisker pole mounted with special brackets; salt water washdown outlet connected to its own pump; folding stainless steel toe rail cleats on both sides.

ON MAST: Spreader lights; bliper radar reflector; glomex gain control TV antenna; speaker/foghorn works through VHF radio; radar antenna.

IN CABIN: Ice box converted to AC/DC refrigeration; hot and cold pressure water; propane on demand hot water heater; Propane stove; 15” flat screen TV built in; built in microwave; both microwave and TV work on special switch so they can be run off AC shore power or AC from a power invertor on board; Icom 710 SSB with Icom 130 Antenna tuner connect to backstay and a large Dynaplate ground; GPS Chartplotter mounted by chart table; ICOM VHF radio; built in Radar; Navetex weather reporter; ACR EPIRB in custom made teak holder; AM/FM radio/tape player with speakers in cabin and cockpit; Hella fans in main salon and V-Berth sleeping area; smoke, fire and carbon monoxide detectors; boat hook; manual and automatic bilge bump A few years ago I had the boat surveyed to obtain insurance from Boat US and this is available upon request.

Boat is currently at a slip in Warwick, RI which is available until it is hauled in the fall.
