The original Mariah company 1989-2001 owner, Jimmy
Fults, set out to make the best boat in the world, competing with the
top-end brands like Cobalt.
This 1996 Shabah is what the brand was all
about.
The Shabah is the classic runabout layout - kids up front, 4-5
passengers in the back and a very comfy drivers seat.
The bimini top
is stable when you're blasting along at 30, but I can stand up
straight beneath it at 6'-3".
The attention to construction detail was
just amazing - soundproofing drops engine noise dramatically. 60mm
vinyl is 3x the thickness of Bargainliner starter boats.
It drives
like a Cobalt - fast, sporty, dry ride.
Mariahs are the DeLoreans of

this boat, not knowing a Mariah from anything, and the longer we owned
it, the better it got.
Ours was in Idaho for its first decade -
freshwater only.
We've kept it that way - Lake Whatcom and one amazing
Ross Lake outing, that's it.
