BOAT COMMENTARY:
Monterey CR250 cabin cruiser is in excellent condition.
This 2005 twenty-seven foot (with swim platform) high quality powerboat has low hours (about 212).
It has a full galley with electric stove, electric/12v refrigerator, microwave oven, and sink all to cook up delicious meals/snacks (I have cooked spaghetti for dinner).
The full stand-up head includes a flush toilet with 20 gallon holding tank, sink and a shower.
Both sinks and both showers have hot and cold water running off a 6 gallon hot water heater.
The second shower is located on the molded swim platform.
Boat has large 20 gallon fresh water holding tank which means you will never run low on fresh water if you fill it regularly.
For those steamy hot, humid days, and evenings in port there is air-conditioning (AC) that quickly chills the entire cabin.
When in port and not in use, I would leave the AC on 80 degrees to control the humidity in the cabin.
On real hot days you can shut yourselves up in the air-conditioned cabin and read, listen to music, or watch a movie on the 20” LCD flat screen TV (with the DirectTV dish at the dock, I could also watch TV).
On a chilly evening, the same AC system can be changed to “heat” mode.
I have slept on this boat during the winter months and have been comfortable.
The lighted aft-cabin can be used for storage or sleeping quarters or both.
The stand-up cabin has a dining table that quickly converts into a bed to comfortably sleep two adults and children or adults and pets.
The seat in the cockpit pulls out to another bed, so with the aft cabin, the boat can sleep six adults, children and pets.
There is plenty of hidden storage space so the cabin and deck can easily be kept clutter free.
This boat has a depth finder, deck lights, a well-lit cabin, Garmin GPS, CB, built in compass, bimini top, bridge enclosure, trim indicators, fender holders, new charging system, new deep cycle battery, new bottom paint, stainless steel dual-prop impeller on a bravo III outdrive, and all manuals/paperwork included.
A trailer is included for towing.
There is one oversized anchor, line, and fenders, and three mounted fire extinguishers.
The bottom is freshly painted with anti-fouling paint.
It has a shore power and twin batteries (AC/DC).
The built in stereo system plays both CD’s and AM/FM radio in the cabin and on the deck amplifiers.
This is an excellent boat for staying for one or several nights in a tranquil cove.
I usually go to skinny dip cove, Shirley plantation, or the gravel pits in the James River for one or more nights and experience the beauty, peace, and transcendence of nature that cannot be captured in any other way.
It is like being in another dimension of existence sitting on the deck at night under the stars and moon with a glass of wine and cheese, listening to music, or enjoying the silence of the cove.
I have ventured all over the Appomattox River, James River, York River, Chesapeake Bay, Intercoastal waterway, and Virginia Beach area on this boat.
Sometimes I would stay a week tied up to a dock in Virginia Beach or Hampton which is just wonderful.
The boat has full canvass (bridge enclosure), which provides shade from the sun and shelter from the rain.
You can stand up under the canvass top.
This boat handles well in rough water (have been in 6 foot swells), and I have never had a problem.
You can go to Chesapeake Bay if you know what you are doing but I would recommend a calm day-I didn’t like the 6 foot swells even though the boat excelled.
This boat, currently named “Impulsive” is excellent for swimming off the swim platform, cruising, fishing, trolling, overnight trips, claming ashore, or just plain hanging out and enjoying life, which is my favorite activity.
It is a summerhouse on the water.
A single person could live aboard all year at certain marinas.
This boat is very clean and with all the “extras” I don’t think you will find a better boat for this price.
Reason for selling: bought my first house and will be adopting a little girl within the next few months and everything will be all about her.
